$22.44 - $49.80 hour / $46,680 - $103,590 annual

Role Description

Water heater installers typically work for plumbing companies or HVAC companies and install or repair water heaters in customer homes. This work involves evaluating current systems (gas, electric, and on-demand) for performance and life span, and installing new water heaters as replacements for older or non-functional systems. Heat Pump Water Heaters (HPWHs) are a newer technology and their energy saving features are creating strong demand for technicians with specialized technical skills to install these sophisticated systems.

This job requires traveling to residential homes, interacting with customers, troubleshooting current systems, making recommendations, removing old systems, and installing new water heaters. You’ll often collaborate with other tradespeople, adapt to different jobsite conditions, and keep up with evolving technology and energy codes.
