Home Performance Guild September 2026 Monthly Member Meeting

Cost matters, but it rarely explains the whole decision. Drawing from recent contractor customer surveys and nationwide homeowner research, Bill Hoelzer, Founder of Volta Strategies, will share, through his presentation titled "What homeowners actually want: Lessons learned from thousands of surveys," what the data reveals about the roles of specificity, trust, and follow-through. After a brief overview, the conversation will open up to the marketing, lead generation, sales, and customer communication questions Guild members would most like to explore.

Portland’s Green Construction Contractor Development Program is creating a new on-ramp for small contractors interested in green construction, home performance, residential retrofits, and PCEF-funded work. Earth Advantage is leading delivery of the Residential Pathway, which includes hands-on introductory training, BPI-aligned education, and financial support for eligible participants. Shaun Hassel, Workforce Training Manager at Earth Advantage, will present on how the program works, who it is designed to serve, and the training and credential opportunities beginning this fall. Guild members will also learn how they can connect contractors in their networks with the program and help strengthen Portland’s growing home performance workforce.

Come check out our Contractor Resilience Corner, a space just for contractors to learn simple, practical ways to take care of themselves and support a healthier team. We’ll share hands-on practices you can use in your day-to-day life.
